102. Moscow Hospital Number 6

The burning Chernobyl reactor caused the evacuation of 135,000 people within a 30-kilometer radius of the plant. Some of the most heavily irradiated were brought to this hospital, where twelve people received bone marrow transplants performed by Dr. Robert Gale, who came from the United States with a team of physicians and a million dollar's worth of equipment. Two of the transplant recipients survived. Novaya Basmanaya Street, No. 26, Moscow. December 8, 1986.
