20. Ashtabula Uranium Metal Extrusion Press

This press squeeze red-hot uranium ingots into long tubes. The uranium tubs are cut into 14-inch lengths at Fernald. These segments are then sent to South Carolina to be bombarded with neutrons and transformed into plutonium.
