This is the largest wood-and-glue laminated structure in the world. Aircraft placed on top of this trestle are hit with up to 10 million volts of electromagnetic pulse (EMP) energy to simulate the effects of a nuclear explosion on planes in flight. A tiny figure, lower left center, indicates scale. Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico. July 13, 1983.
