The NORAD Command and Control Center lies deep within a granite mountain in Colorado. Military personnel enter through 30-ton blast doors. Twenty-four hours a day, Canadian and American crews scan all objects in orbit around the earth. Their job is to phone the president of the United States should a missile be observed.
